Biswajit inaugurates

Works Minister Th Biswajit has conveyed that increase in number of entrepreneurs will lead to a decrease in the rate of unemployment in the State.
Speaking at the inauguration of Lan Leima Handloom and Handicraft (North East Artisans Hubs) and Leima Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd building at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai today, Minister Biswajit said participation of women in business is very large in Manipur and their roles are also great when it comes to the State.
Manipur has the highest number of weavers in the country as almost all the households, either in the hills or the valley, have the tradition of handloom, Biswajit said and added that the number of women engaged weaving is far greater than the number of women selling goods at the Keihtel/bazaar.
He also stressed on various schemes taken up by the Government for the welfare of women and added that Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is one of the most prominent schemes taken up by the Central Government for the women of the country.
IMC Mayor Laishangbam Lokeshwor Singh and Zilla Parishad Member Ucheckon Nongchup, Seram Niken Singh attended the event as the presidium members.
