Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight launched

Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) organised by the District Health Society (NHM), Senapati was launched by Kh Lalmani Singh, ADM, Senapati as the chief guest at Katomei Community Hall today.
The occasion was also graced by Miranda, DPO, Senapati as the guest of honour and Dr H Loli Mao, Director/CMO, Senapati as the president respectively.
In her keynote address, Dr Sokha, DIO, Senapati said that the aim of the programme is to attain zero death by diarrhoea.
The programme aims at teaching the people about health and hygiene, awareness about the disease and precautions needed to adopt like washing of hands properly, stop open defecation, use of safe drinking water and use of ORS.
The programme will continue till June 9, she added.
Dr H Loli Mao, Director/ CMO, Senapati in his presidential speech said that the programme was started in 2014 and it is being continued till date all over the country, aiming to reach every households.
The programme was launched so as to bring down the number of death of children from diarrhoea.
The disease is responsible for death of 45 newborn children for every 1000 children, he said.
ASHA workers would visit every households and check that no child below 5 years of age would die of diarrhoea, said the CMO.
Speaking at the event, Miranda, DPO, Senapati said that all ASHA and Anganwadi workers should acquire enough knowledge before serving the children in their respective places.
Speaking as the chief guest, Kh Lalmani Singh, ADM, Senapati expressed his happiness over the low rates of death caused by the disease.
He called for a mass awareness about the disease to different schools of the district.
DLOs from the Medical, Education Department and ICDS of the district and locals attended the programme.
Bishnupur: District Health Society, Bishnupur too launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) 2018 today at Leimapokpam Mayai Leikai Community hall.
The event was organized by the District Health Society, Bishnupur in association with RKS, Primary Health Centre, Leimapokpam.
N Loken Singh, MLA, Dr Ng Jayenta Singh, District Mission Director/CMO, Bishnupur, L Jiten Meitei, Zilla Parishad, Leimapokpam ZP and Th Pashot Devi, Pradhan, Leimapokpam GP attended the function as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
The programme will be carried out in the district will continue till June 9 .
