The daily test positivity rate remains below 2 per cent for the second consecutive day on Friday as government bulletins reported two death cases and 28 fresh infections from Covid-19 out of 1485 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 1.89 per cent, which is slightly higher than 1.45 per cent recorded on Thursday.
The two death cases were unvaccinated residents of Imphal West district and with this, the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in the state has reached 1968 .
Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 674 out of which only 38 (5.64 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Friday with Imphal East reporting highest cases at 11.In terms of positivity rate, Tengnoupal district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 9.1 per cent while Bishnupur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.3 per cent.
Chandel, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Thoubal districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,698 positive cases and 1594 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1367 new positive cases and 47 death cases out of which 341 new cases and 9 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, 27 people (20 male & 7 female) out of the 28 new positive cases are from among the general population and one from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (25) .
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (11), Imphal West (9), Bishnupur (l), Kakching (3), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 39 patients were discharged from home isolation (7), RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (26) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 125,098 (general population 1,20,674 and CAPF personnel - 4,424) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,456 (general population - 1,18,103 and CAPF personnel - 4,353) and number of active cases is 674 (general population - 608 and CAPF personnel - 66).The recovery rate is 97.89 per cent.
A total of 482 D-type and 91 B-type Oxygen cylinders were distributed to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 4617 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,74,832 including 8,52,313 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,805), Imphal East (27,763), Thoubal (9473), Churachandpur (10,176), Kangpokpi (2786), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9200), Senapati (2241), Ukhrul (2992), Kakching (6435), Chandel (2354), Noney (1073), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (953) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (657), Imphal East (469), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by .this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,315 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the nationaiaverage of 24,701 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,55,289 tests per million population against the national average of 4,55,409 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1485 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.89 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.86 per cent.
