Over 680 jabbed at 'Ritual Festival of Vaccination'

Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter under the aegis of National Health Mission Manipur conducted a mass vaccination camp called 'Ritual Festival of Vaccination' on July 24 and July 25 at Iboyaima Sumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
A release issued jointly by its president Dr Palin Khungongbam and secretary Dr James Elangbam said AHPI Manipur Chapter felt that the prompt return to normalcy will be possible only when 100 percent of the eligible population of Manipur is vaccinated at the earliest and therefore took the initiative of conducting the mass vaccination programme organised in collaboration with Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, Film forum Manipur, Apunba Manipur Ishei Kanglup and All Manipur Artist Relief Committee.
A total of 682 people were vaccinated with majority of the beneficiaries being members of artistes' federation of the state and their relatives.
They included 416 first dose recipients with 44.28 per cent of the beneficiaries in the 18-44 years group, 33.87 per cent in 45-60 years group and 21.85 per cent above 60 years of age.
The release also informed that no AEFI were reported in the two-day vaccination camp.
State Mission director Dr N Shyamjai Singh and his team also visited the camp to oversee the proceedings.
The AHPI Manipur Chapter also assured that it would continue to shoulder its Corporate Social responsibilities (CSR) over and above catering to about 65 per cent of the state's healthcare needs.
