CCpur, June 26 2018:
At least four tribal students bodies have expressed their dissatisfaction over the Government's failure to include Tribal Language (MIL) Lecturers in the recently issued recruitment notice for Lecturers at Government Higher Secondary Schools.
The Thadou Students' Association GHQ, Siamsinpawlpi GHQ, Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation NEI, and Liangmai Naga Katamai Ruangdi - Assam, Manipur and Nagaland today held a joint meeting at SSPP Complex, Bungmual Churachandpur to censure the State Government for its failure to include Tribal Language Lecturers in the recruitment notification.
'It is learnt that the Directorate of Education(s) has proposed for the recruitment of 42 Lectures for Tribal Language (MIL subject) and it was approved by the State Cabinet on March 12 .
However, the exclusion of 42 lecturers for the nine (9) Tribal Languages in the recruitment notification in spite of a Cabinet decision and assurance made by the Chief Minister and the Education Minister is a clear indication of the Government's apathy towards the hill students' .
The popular slogan of the Government - Go to Hills is a farce, said a joint a statement issued by the student bodies following their meeting.
The Government should come out with a notification for recruitment of Lecturers for lecturers of the Tribal Languages on or before June 30, appealed the bodies and added that preference and weightage should be given to B Ed degree holders to ensure selection of deserving and quality Lecturers.
The student bodies cautioned that it will launch stringent agitation if the Government and the department concerned failed to deliver their demands before the stipulated time.
