3 held with drugs worth over ₹ 10 cr

In separate incidents, Tengnoupal district police and Assam Rifles troops apprehended two drug peddlers with World is Yours (WY) tablets worth Rs 9 crore on Monday.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Seiminlun Lhuvum (21) of Moreh ward no 9 and Shotinlen Khongsai (38) of New Moreh Moulhoi Part-III.
According to a report, Tengnoupal police arrested Seiminlun Lhuvm with 2Z8 kg of WY tablets worth around Rs 4,56,00,000 while checking his Bolero vehicle (MN 06LB 6715) on Monday.
On the other hand, Tengnoupal police seized 22.7 kg of WY tablets worth Rs 4,55,00,000 from Shotinlen Khongsai while checking his Bolero vehicle (AS 09F 5589).However, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the WY consignment recovered by Tengnoupal Battalion and Manipur Police was worth Rs 10 crore.
In a release, the PRO IGAR (S) said based on a specific input, a combined team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an operation and intercepted a vehicle at Tengnoupal Police Check Post.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, 2 lakh WIY tablets sealed in 20 packages were recovered.
The seized narcotics have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further investigation.
Another source informed that personnel of 20 Assam Rifles posted at PVCP Khudengthabi apprehended one individual along with brown sugar worth around Rs 1.22 crore during routine check of vehicles on Tuesday around 1.20 pm.
As per report submitted by AR to Moreh police station, the AR personnel at the check post stopped an individual, later identified as Md Shahid Khan, son of Md Nahaton of Moijing, Thoubal district, who came driving a red coloured unregistered Honda Activa.
Upon checking, 15 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar were found concealed inside the front body of the scooter.
Upon enquiry, he confessed that he was transporting the brown sugar from Moreh to Thoubal.
The AR personnel apprehended him at the spot and seized the brown sugar weighing around 612 grams including the packing materials, the unregistered Honda Activa and a Redmi smartphone from his possession and handed him over to Moreh PS for taking up further legal actions.
