Naga consultative meeting on Aug 25

Naga consultative meeting on the 'Framework Agreement' recently signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) will be held on August 25 at Niathu Resort, Dimapur.
Sources said civil society organizations and public leaders from 'all the Naga areas' will participate in the event.
The sources further informed that NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah, Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio and other leaders will address the gathering.
Frontal organizations from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland will gather at 10 am on the day, the sources added.
Speeches of the leaders will be followed by interaction.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Sumi Hoho and its frontal oragnisations will not be participating in the Naga consultative meeting organized by NSCN (IM) .

Nagaland will not embrace undignified Peace Accord: GPRN/NSCN .
GPRN/NSCN in a note from its MIP on Friday stated the people of Nagaland "will not embrace an undignified peace accord" signed between NSCN (IM) and the Government of India.
GPRN/NSCN led by Chairman 'Gen.
(Retd.)' Khole Konyak and General Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi said that the "Nagas of Nagaland, be it land or people, cannot be sacrificed to fulfill the political aspiration and desire of Nagas living in the states of Manipur, Assam or Arunachal Pradesh" .
The outfit which is also under a cease-fire deal with the Government of India asserted that it will not "accept imposition of NSCN (IM) peace deal in Nagaland because the political future of the tribes of Nagaland is best understood by them alone and therefore it is theirs to decide" .
GPRN/NSCN will respect any political arrangement or accord that recognizes Naga ethnicity, history, culture and which improves the living standard of Nagas in Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar.
"SS Khaplang's agreement with Union of Myanmar is therefore acknowledged for it is changing the lives of Naga brethren living in Myanmar for the better," it further acknowledged.
GPRN/NSCN says Naga integration issue destroys age old relations with Meeteis, Kukis, Ahoms GPRN/NSCN stressed that the issue of Naga integration, "which was unheard of till recently, had shaken and destroyed the age old cordial relations of Naga people with the Meeteis, Kukis, Ahoms, Arunachalis and other neighbors" .
GPRN/NSCN stated that on September 18, 2010, during a meeting under the aegis of the Forum for Naga reconciliation (FNR), NSCN (IM) General Secretary Th Muivah had declared that "inclusive reconciliation among the Nagas was not possible" .
Again on February, 29 2012, at Agri Expo Ground, Dimapur, in front of fifty thousand Naga gathering, Muivah had declared that Naga sovereignty and integration was not possible at the present time.
The same idea was expressed in other FNR organized highest level events which were all recorded, said GPRN/NSCN.
The outfit reminded that the Indian Prime Minister and Home Minister had assured the Chief Ministers of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh that the present state boundaries shall not be altered whatsoever.
