BJP remains 'neutral' on question of religion

Former minister Dr.Khashim Ruivah asserted the Bharatiya Janata Party is committed to work for people in Manipur irrespective of community and religion, while saying the saffron party is not anti-Christian.
In his address to the party members after the official inauguration of the BJP office in Ukhrul, former minister Dr.Khashim Ruivah said the party remains neutral as far as religion is concerned while arguing the Congress government in Manipur is more anti-Christian.
He cited the instances of Naga River in Imphal where Church was dismantled by the Ibobi government, and appealed to the people to dispel the notion that BJP is anti-Christian.
Dr.Khashim also asserted the Saffron party is committed to work for peaceful coexistence of all communities, development and common good of the people.
The BJP on Thursday also launched a mass enrolment programme.
More than 500 party workers attended the function today.
