69 Bn CRPF inaugurates toilet complex

As part of its continuous effort to reach out to the local populace with the objective to establish better relationship between the locals and CRPF, 69 Battalion constructed and inaugurated a bath room attached toilet with running water facility at Women Welfare Association, Heingang Awang Leikai, Mantripukhri, said a press release issued by Commandant 69 Bn CRPF.
It stated that the inaugural ceremony was graced by Omkar Nath Singh, Commandant of 69 Bn CRPF as the chief guest in the presence of distinguished guests and officers including SO's, Jawans of 69 Bn CRPF, womenfolk and villagers.
The toilet attached bathroom was inaugurated with a view to boost the Swachhta Hi Seva programme and for the purpose of hygiene and sanitation for the locals, it stated.
69 Battalion have organised three civic action programmes in the deployment area of the State including handing over of water storage tanks and solar lamps to the poor villagers.
It also conducted an inter village football tournament at Achanbigei Awang Leikai apart from distributing sports items and sports uniform to both the finalist teams of the tournament.
Speaking at the inaugural function today, Commandant Omar Nath stated that CRPF will continue to serve the people and will strive for growth, development and prosperity.
Assuring to organise similar programmes in the near future, he appealed the authorities, clubs and organisations for proper utilisation and maintenance of the toilet cum bathroom.
The locals lauded the Battalion for their commendable gesture and humanitarian service, added the statement.
