State reports six fatalities, 592 new positive cases

Imphal, June 19 2021:
The state on Saturday saw a decline in new fatalities from Covid-19 with only 6 death cases recorded while the positivity rate remains high as 592 positive cases were detected out of 5873 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus presenting a positivity rate of above 10 per cent.
The active caseload has reached 9538 on Saturday out of which 2938 are in home isolation while the remaining 6600 are in healthcare facilities, CCCs and CHICs.
Out of 694 patients in healthcare facilities, 307 patients (includes 34 post Covid patients) are on oxygen support and 34 on ventilator support.
There are 913 patients in Covid Care Centres and 72 of them are on oxygen support.
According to official reports, the 592 new cases included 589 people (299 males & 290 females) from among the general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
Their samples were tested at RIMS (16), JNIMS (35), District Hospitals (357) and other testing centres (184) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (102), Imphal West (160), Thoubal (64), Bishnupur (57), Kakching (65), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (38), Chandel (1), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (47), Kangpokpi (29), Kamjong (1) and Jiribam (1) .
The State Level -19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 6 (4 males & 2 females) Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (3) and Kakching (2).Two each of them died at JNIMS and Babina and one each at RIMS and Shija Hospitals.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1039.Three victims were in the age group of below 50 years and three did not have any co-morbid conditions.
On Saturday, 294 patients were discharged of which 170 were under home isolation, 5 from RIMS, 4 from JNIMS and the rest 115 from other Covid care facilities.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 63,538 (general population - 59,736 and CAPF personnel - 3,802).Number of recovered cases is 52,961 (general population - 49,200 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) and number of active cases is 9,538 (general population - 9,502 and CAPF personnel - 36).The recovery rate is 83.35 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 2049 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 452 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 465D and 117B filled cylinders while district/ sub-division wise stock delivery as on Saturday is Bishnupur (115D,10B), Chandel (28D,7B), Churachandpur (75D,0B), Senapati (49D,0B), Thoubal (58D,31B), Ukhrul 34D,15B), Tamenglong (21D,8B), Jiribam 36D,13B), Moreh (25D,9B), Kamjong 3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (9D,21B), Noney (2D,0B), Pherzawl (6D,2B) and CCCs (197D, 48B).Up to Friday, 4,89,577 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and the figure includes 82,029 individuals who have got their second shot.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (22,418), Imphal East (14,386), Thoubal (5118), Churachandpur (4955), Kangpokpi (1618), Tamenglong (2045), Bishnupur (3772), Senapati (1360), Ukhrul (1346), Kakching (2990), Chandel (1083), Noney (549), Tengnoupal (664), Jiribam (702), Kamjong (430) and Pherzawl (102).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (386), Imphal East (274), Thoubal (96), Churachan-dpur (82), Kangpokpi (26), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (68), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (54), Chandel (14), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 20,476 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,431 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,74,786 tests per million population against the national average of 2,79,392 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.64 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5873 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 10.08 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.45 per cent.
