Relay hunger strike enters fourth day

The ongoing relay hunger strike of MUSA, MUTA and MUSA regarding the demand for the removal of the university's Vice Chancellor Adya Prasad Pandey has entered its fuurth day today.
The faculty members of each Departments of the University will undergo the protest from 11 am to 4 pm every day while the students of the University, under the aegis of MUSU will continue nonstop till July 21.Speaking to media persons, Professor N Rajmohon informed that the today's relay hunger strike was headed by Department of Chemistry and Department of Mass Communication.
He decried that the State Government has been trying to deal with the matter in a harsh manner and meted out assaults when students went to the CM Bungalow to submit memorandum.
He maintained that the movement by MUSU, MUTA and MUSA is a very peaceful and democratic movement adding that it receives the support from many colleges with the Joint College Students' Forum (JCSF) joining the movement from today.
Stating that the delay in settling the issue will only bring more harmful consequences for the students of Manipur University and other colleges in the State, he urged the State Government and Central Government to resolve the matter at the earliest.
