AITC reinstates ailing MLA Kunjo

MLA Maibam Kunjo, who was among the five MLAs expelled from All India Trinamool Congress, Manipur State Unit for going against the party principle, has been reinstated in the party.
In this regard, an order was issued by Th Shyamkumar, president of AITC, Manipur State Unit on August 9. Notably, Th Shyamkumar had filed a complaint to Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly seeking disqualification of MLA Maibam Kunjo who was elected three times from Hiyanglam constituency for allegedly trying to split the party.
However, the Speaker has not initiated any action against the MLA so far.
Since the disqualification order against MLA Kunjo has been revoked, the disqualification case against him is also likely to be annulled soon.
The other four MLAs who were expelled from AITC, Manipur State Unit for working against the party are Kh Joykishan, MLA of Thangmeiband A/C; Konthoujam Sarat, MLA of Konthoujam A/C; Oinam Lukhoi, MLA of Wangoi A/C and Thonagm Bishwarjit, MLA of Thongju A/C. Meanwhile, sources said that MLA Maibam Kunjo, who is a diabetes patient, is undergoing treatment at his residence and is said to be in critical condition.
He was admitted to RIMS Hospital following multiple organ failure.
On seeing no sign of improvement in his condition from the medication given, he was discharged from the hospital.
