Ukhrul girl child JAC warns government

Not happy with the Manipur Government's apathy toward its demands, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the brutal physical assault on a 9-year-old domestic helper in Ukhrul has threatened to launch further agitation.
On Saturday, briefing media, members of the JAC charged the state Government with hesitating to fulfill the demands of the JAC and instead showing lack of concern to the committee's call for an early solution to the issue.
AC Thotcho, convenor of the JAC alleged that the Government and the concerned authorities are undecided on the issue till date as they do not want to do justice to the victim.
"If the Government chooses to keep mum on the issue, the JAC will take up more intense agitation," he warned The minor domestic helper was reportedly beaten up severely by the house owner, Jim Horam and his mother Eda Horam at Kachai village in Ukhrul district on February 3 this year.
