Over 2 Cr Worth Heroin Seized

Imphal, December 08 2014:
Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended three drug Peddlers along with contraband drugs at Khudengthabi check post on December 5 last, according to a release of PRO, IGAR (south) .
The peddlers who were travelling in a Maruti Van Registration No MN 00 1S 0474, and heading towards Imphal have been identified as Mrs Vahneikim Kipgen, aged 26 yrs, W/o Mr Lalginlen Kipgen, resident Moreh Ward No - 8 in Chandel district; Mr Lalginlen Kipegen, aged 25 yrs, S/o Mr Phnglunmang Kipgen, resident of Khnganangbi, Kalapahar in Senapati district and Mr Konthoujam Ampal Singh, aged 27 yrs, S/o Late Bishna, resident of Top Moirang Kampu Imphal East.
410 gms of heroin worth Rs 2.055 crores, two mobile phones with three SIM cards were recovered from their possession.
The apprehendees along with the recovered items have been handed over to the Narcotic Control Bureau Imphal, added the release.
In another incident, troops of the 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched a swift search operation in B Bongjang village and recovered approximately 485 kgs of banned red sander wood worth Rs 19.40 lakhs on December 6.The recovered unclaimed banned red sander wood has been handed over to the Forest Department.
