Students appeal to lift ban on ITI

While expressing serious concern over the ban by a certain UG organisation on Industrial Training Institute, (ITI), Takyel, DESAM and AMSU appealed to the UG group to lift the ban on the institute which is the only institute of technical education in the state.
Talking to reporters in a press meet held at the conference hall of the institute, HRD secretary, DESAM Romen Leishangthem said that KCP (Yaiphaba) is enforcing ban to the institute for a personal feud between the UG group and Joint Director of the institute since May 3 .
He said that the institute is a very important institute of the state which imparts technical education to the students of the state.
Many have got jobs after passing the courses being offered in the institute.
Decrying the ban imposed by the UG group, he appealed to KCP (Yaiphaba) to lift the ban and bring an amicable solution between the two parties at earliest.
He also urged to make the institute a free zone.
Deputy Secretary, Social Welfare AMSU Leimapokpam Sanjit said that the personnel feud between the UG group and Joint Director is directly affecting the academic careers of the students.
AMSU decried the ban imposed to the institute and its students, said Sanjit.
He also urged to lift the ban at the earliest and make the institute a free zone.
Principal, ITI Takyel P Robindro said that the institute since its inception in 1959 has been imparting technical educations in various fields to the students of the state.
A total of 370 students are studying in 23 different trades in the institute at present.
Final trade test of the institute falls on July which is held in the whole country.
Students of the state will be competing with students of other state in the final trade test.
The ban imposed by the UG group will directly affect the academic atmosphere of the institute.
Students will face inconveniences while appearing in the final trade test since the institute will be unable to cover the syllabus of the various trades.
Instructors and students of the institutes also appealed to the UG group to lift the ban keeping the careers of the students in view at the earliest and bring an amicable solution with the Joint Director at the earliest.
They also urged to make the institute a free zone.
