Imphal, April 04 2021:
The government should ensure that the beneficiaries under the Food Security Act are not affected by the reduced quota of rice for distribution.
CPI Manipur State Council demanded this at a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club and said the initiative to link aadhaar with ration cards were not taken up by some SDO/SDC and DC which led to failure to comply to the directives of the Supreme Court to complete it which has resulted in reduction of quota of the state.
Speaking to the media, Laishram Sotinkumar said as the work to link aadhaar and ration card was not taken up properly, many beneficiaries are going to be left out from the scheme.
The result of the mistakes created by the Government official cannot be bear by the people, he added.
He also urged the Government that CPI will take up the responsibility of linking aadhaar and ration cards for beneficiaries left out and the Government should ensure the benefits are reaching to them too.
CPI Manipur State Council also said the issue in Myanmar should not be taken lightly and the Country should provide protection to Myanmar nationals in humanity ground.
