Imphal, February 02 2019:
Pointing out that there is not a single concrete source to ascertain the report which claimed that the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 is not on the business list of the Rajya Sabha, five student bodies of the State namely SSUM, AMMSO, MSAD, AMPSUM and RSF, have urged the people to stay alert and not to be fooled by such misleading and questionable report.
A joint press release issued by the five student unions today explained that the said report is from a newspaper based in Guwahati and this particular report/news has no mention in any of the National media.
Stating that it is widely believed the CAB might be introduced on either February 7 or 8, the student bodies appealed the people to think logically when it comes to the credibility of any such misleading news.
The President of the country, on the start of the session, said that the Bill will be passed and only the President has the power to give final assent to the Bill, it reasoned.
Alleging that such misleading report is an attempt to fool the people, it urged all to remain alert and ready for any development regarding the Bill.
