Imphal, June 01 2010:
Charges of arson levelled against Horngam Keishing by Rockson Shimray has been flatly rejected by Horngam's party today.
While Rockson was an INC candidate in 22-Kamuching DCC of Sadar Hills, Horngam was an independent candidate in the same DCC but he later withdrew his candidature following prohibition by some Naga organisations.
Speaking to this reporter today, Horngam Keishing's younger brother Hopson Keishing said at the time when the act of arson was committed as alleged by Rockson, Horngam and his family were at hospital treating his son Soshin Keishing.
Soshin was injured when Rockson and his party attacked the house of Horngam at Dewlahland.
Rockson's house caught fire when a candle fell over which was lit up by an old woman of the family.
The fire was also quickly doused off by the neighbouring people, Hopson said.
Reacting to the allegation that the prohibition on ADC elections was imposed at the instigation of Horngam, Hopson asked whether the prohibition on ADC elections in Ukhrul, Chandel and other areas were done at the behest of Horngam.
Police have registered in FIR in connection with destruction of Horngam's kitchen by Rockson and his party, he added.
