20 members from Congress join NEIDP, felicitated

Imphal, April 01 2019:
A total of 20 people from Congress party including 6 Councillors of Oinam Municipal Council and 13 ward members of Oinam AC along with 7 Ngangkhalawai Zilla Parishad member of Moirang AC Mutum Birchandra have quit the party to join North East India Development Party (NEIDP) today.
The newly joined members were accorded a warm welcome during a function held at the conference hall of NEIDP office in Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.
Speaking at the function, NEIDP State president Dr Ng Bijya welcomed and lauded the newly joined members maintaining that they decided to join the party by believing in the idea of regionalism.
Appealing all members to put maximum investment in strengthening the party, Bijya motivated all to strive for communal harmony and a peaceful State where the natives can live together.
President NEIDP CWC Narengbam Samarjit maintained that it is rather unfortunate on the part of candidates of other political parties who have failed to put forward the idea of regionalism.
He appealed all political analysts, experts and intellectuals not to recklessly use or talk about the term, regionalism without understanding its true meaning.
Samarjit urged all members of political parties or candidates to come out for a debate instead of making reckless promises and claims in the public domain, especially at the time of election.
