DFC organises handloom show with designer Robert Naorem

Asian Designer Week, an International fashion extravaganza was organised at Taj Vivanta Hotel, Dwarka in New Delhi under the theme "Fashion crosses Borders" from April 27 till 28.During this fashion week, Delhi Fashion Club organised a unique fashion show to promote Khadi, Handlooms & North East Textiles from Manipur.
The show witnessed beautiful designs of celebrity designer Robert Naorem, who has been working in the industry as a designer and a makeup artist as well for more than 18 years.
The varied and authentic designs of Robert Naorem were showcased on the day two of the fashion week.
Robert's silk collection used handlooms of Manipur and woven fabrics which were converted into modern designs making it wearable.
The fashion show witnessed the richness of handloom and textiles of the North Eastern State, Manipur.
Accessories for the models include Naga inspired spears headgear which were fully amalgated with Manipuri sensibilities of designs.
Renowned actress of Manipur, Soma Laishram, who was the showstopper wore a beautiful blue Manipuri bridal dress which won the hearts of the audience on its entry.
Robert has presented his designs across the globe including at fashion cities like Paris, Milan, London and Dubai.
The show was curated and directed by Harshit Dhingaun while show choreography was done by Rachna.
Designer Robert Naorem and actress Soma expressed happiness on participating the event while conveying that they loved the concept and the initiative to promote handloom & textiles by Delhi Fashion Club.
