Imphal, August 30 2011:
Since the state assembly could not come to any conclusion regarding the re-imposition of IPL in the state, three student bodies, AMSU,DESAM and KSA has declared that the students community will obstruct migrants coming in the state via Jiri, Mao and Moreh.
Speaking at a press conference held at AMSU head quarter here in Imphal, A Dipanjit, general secretary of AMSU said that the 60 MLAs have neither the guts nor the desire to safeguard the indigenous population whish has been threatened by the influx of migrants in the state.
He further said that the state's attitude will bring about various agitations which might harm the very existence of the state.
So before any such unwanted incidents take place the government should, by a cabinet decision re-impose the Inner Line Permit system in the state.
The Chief Ministers speech on the floor of the House that the state cannot decide alone on the re-imposition of ILP without the consent of the central government is very unfortunate.he should learn from other neighbouring states where the concern governments have impose the ILP system to stop the unwanted influx of migrants, he said.
The conference was also attended by general secretary of DESAM and KSA.
