A two-day workshop for young scribes on the topic, 'Building perspectives on HIV/AIDS', jointly organised by Manipur Press Club, MACS and Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR), has kick started at Manipur Press Club today.
MACS Project Director PK Jha, MACS Project Director (Technical) Dr Pramod Kumar and Ereibak Editor Irengbam Arun were the members of the dais of the opening session.
In the morning technical session, Dr Pramod Kumar spoke on the topic, 'Understanding the epidemic and the response' .
Representatives from Project Orchid interacted with the participating journalists on the topic, 'Injecting drug use and new trends in the response' in the post lunch session.
MNP+ President L Deepak also spoke on the topic, 'Developing linkages with care and support'.
On the concluding day tomorrow, CFAR Head of Programme, Arthi Pai will sensitise the media persons on changes in 377 legislation and the HIV Bill.
She will also coordinate a panel discussion on challenges of writing on issues related to HIV/AIDS which will be taken part by senior journalists Rupachandra Yumnam and K Sarojkumar.
