Imphal, August 29 2015 :
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has implored the people to prepare for a second joint crucial move to attain success after the three bills meant for protecting the indigenous people become an Act.
As part of the step, JCILPS earnestly appealed the people of the State to observe a massive sit-in from 10 am to 4 pm on August 31 for passing the Bills in the State Assembly, said a press statement issued by JCILPS assistant media coordinator Md Kheirudin Shah Moijingmayum on Saturday.
The State Government is expected to pass the Protection of Manipur Peoples Bill, 2015, the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2015 and the Manipur Shop and Establishments (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015 in the Assembly on August 31 .
After the passage of the three bills, the people are requested to take part in the last rites of Sapam Robinhood to show solidarity and to bring an end to the sit-ins, human chains, rallies, indefinite hunger strikes and relay hunger strikes which have taken a heavy toll on normal life of the people.
The over two-month long intensified ILPS movement is being launched under the banner of the Joint Committee following the death of Sapam Robinhood on July 8 last.
Joint Committee urged the people to consult each other on the future course of action after the bills become an Act and take a firm decision by acknowledging the fact that there is a long way ahead before the actual goal is attained.
The statement stated that JCILPS deeply understands that the longstanding demand for protection of the indigenous people is approaching towards success because of the people's strong and firm stance and relentless strength.
