Imphal, September 28 2022:
Peeved over 'improper' implementation of ITI, Noney project, the Longmai (Simbutlong) Land Ownership's Welfare Association (LOWA) has appealed to Social Welfare Minister H Dingo Singh to terminate the contract of the present contractor.
In a press statement, LOWA claimed that the present contractor of the project who is at MTDC had withdrawn Rs 70 lakh of the project cost which is around Rs 5,01,05,337 on July 1, 2021 but the project is stuck at initial stage.
Saying that the Government must not allow misuse of the project funds under any circumstances, LOWA further appealed to the State Government to engage a new contractor for the project.
It further stated that the Zeliangrong Students' Union and LOWA inspected the project recently and found it in a condition which will not be accepted by the Government and the people.
LOWA said that it donated the land for the project in the larger interest of the State but the ways at which the same is implemented is unsatisfactory.
