State lad wins Judges Choice award of Furtados Ultimate Guitarist, 2013

Tikendrajit Keisham of Keishamthong Bazar, Imphal has won the coveted Furtados Ultimate Guitarist 2013 (Judges Choice) award.
The prize is a Gibson Les Paul 60's Guitar.
He was adjudged as the winner of Furtados Ultimate Guitarist, 2013 Judges Choice award from amongst the top 15 finalists hailing from different parts of the country.
Presently, a student of first year Computer Science and Engineering at Manipur Institute of Technology, Takyelpat, Tikendrajit Keisham participated in the competition by submitting his live video of playing backing track provided by the Furtados for the competition in the video sharing channel, Youtube.
The backing track for his particular video was composed by Daniel Kenneth Rego who was one of the members of the jury of the contest.
With hundreds of guitarists (including professionals) competing nationwide, 15 finalists were selected.

The Furtados Ultimate Guitarist Video Contest is a 3-month long Battle in search for the best guitarist in India.
The Battle went through a series of public voting rounds and selection by judges.
In the first round of the selection, the jury members included Sahil Makhija (Demonic Resurrection), Daniel Kenneth Rego (Demonic Resurrection), Bryden Lewis (Raghu Dixit Project) and Reinhardt Dias (BLAKC) while Mahesh Tiniakar (Rock Machine), Dhurv Ghanekar (Chakraview), Sonam Sherpa (Parikrama), Ravi Iyer (Witch hammer,Vayu) and Baiju Dharmarajan (Motherjane) made up the jury members of the final round selection.
It can be noted here that Tikendrajit Keisham has been playing the guitar since childhood.
He is influenced by his two elder brothers who are also musicians and played together in the same band.
He has performed at various local acts since 2002 and also at The Sangai Tourism Festival along with some local bands of Imphal.
A felicitation function in honour of Tikendrajit Keisham on winning the coveted Furtados Ultimate Guitarist 2013 best guitarist (Judges Choice) award at national level was hosted by Keisham Parmeshor Singh (Engineer, Station In Charge) TVRC Bokakhat, Golaghat, Assam, All India Radio and Doordarshan, Govt.of India at John English School, Keishamthong Bazar here today.
The function was graced by eminent musician, Guru Jianngam Kamei.
