Loitam Richard: Burning of Karnataka made goods unabated

Imphal, May 26 2012:
Undeterred by police action, agitating students continued with their drive of confiscating and burning of goods made in Karnataka for the second day today.
The drive is being conducted as part of the agitation being spearheaded by six student bodies, namely, AMSU, DESAM, MSF, KSA, SWAK and SUK to exert pressure on the State government for doing the needful in connection with handing over the cases of Loitam Richard and Okram Laaba to CBI for investigation.
The agitated students carried out the drive today in different parts of Imphal East district and Imphal West districts and seized all the goods made in Karnataka and burnt them in the presence of public.

Speaking to media persons in this regard, Secretary General of DESAM, A Thoithoi appealed to all the concerned not to bring out any comments over the agitation being launched by the six student organizations and said that burning down of Karnataka made goods would continue unabatedly until the Karnataka government comes out with specific step towards bringing justice to Richard and Laaba.
