NEC to boost dental care in state

Imphal, November 25 2012:
In a move to strengthen Dental Care facilities in the state, North Eastern Council (NEC) has taken up a special project under which Rs 437 lakhs would be sanctioned to all the District Hospitals and Community Health Centres of the State.
According to an official source, NEC has recently given the administrative approval for sanctioning Rs 437 lakhs to the Government of Manipur under the special project which aims at strengthening the existing Dental Care facilities in the state.
The sanctioned amount has also been approved by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
Accordingly, NEC has sent written information to the State Government and the DoNER Ministry.
From the approved amount of Rs 437 lakhs, NEC would be financing 90 percent of the grant while the remaining 10 percent which comes to around Rs 84.57 lakh is to be borne by the State, sources said, while adding that the grant of NEC is provisional and can be adjusted base on the audited figure of expenditures of schemes of NEC for the financial year 2012-13 .
It may be mentioned that CS, Poonia, in a written letter sent to NEC had pressed for paying special emphasis while taking up scheme for strengthening Dental Care facilities.
