Student killed in hit and run; organisations warn of bandh

Senapati, December 24 2019:
B Kamba, a 17-year-old, was killed in a hit-run incident that took place between Senapati Bazar and Council at 9.10 pm on December 22 .
The deceased, son of Bing from Willong Khullen village was knocked down a Karong bound Tata Sumo which fled the scene.
The driver and the vehicle have not been traced yet, said sources.
B Kamba was a student of St Vincent School Pumdumlong and he was supposed to appear matriculation examination next year.
Meanwhile, denouncing the callousness of the authority concerned for their failure to arrest the drive involved till today, Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) and MKS (Maram Students' Union) have warned that they will imposed bandh on the National Highway-2 if the driver is not identified and booked at the earliest.
The bodies also appealed the driver involved to surrender himself/herself to the police or approach the family of the deceased on humanitarian ground.
