Veterinary camps organised

Veterinary camps were organised in the far-flung districts of Chandel and Churachandpur on October 18 and 23 under the aegis of 28 Sector Assam Rifles and IGAR (South) along with an expert team of 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital from HQ 3 Corps, said a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .
Approximately 1000 domesticated animals were administered free medical care and given treatment during the camps organised at both the locations of Tuitam Khongkhai, Churachandpur district and Aigejang village, Chandel district.
Medicines were also distributed along with small tutorial pamphlets to the attendees and surrounding village chairmen.
The villagers lauded the efforts of 21 Assam Rifles and the Veterinary team of HQ 3 Corps for organising the camp .
Two veterinary camps were also organised by 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in the villages of Ukhrul.
While the first camp was organised at Leigangching on October 21, the second camp was held at Sagolmang village today .
The camps were held with the help of a medical team of 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital.
A total of 225 animals were treated in the camp held at Leigangching which included 153 dogs, 6 cats, 1 cow, 2 pigs, 54 hens and 9 goats while 562 animals including 188 dogs, 10 cats, 48 cows, 62 pigs, 249 hens and 5 buffaloes were treated in the camp held at Sagolmang .
Medicines were also given to the people with large number of animals at their homes, added the release.
