'Sans CPI, Manipur might not have existed'

The Communist Party of India, (CPI) Manipur State Council today celebrated the 63rd Foundation Day of CPI in Manipur at Takyel Kolom leikai Community Hall.
The function was graced by N Mangi, National Council Member, CPI and Chairman MANIDCO, Ph Parijat, National Executive Member, CPI and Agriculture Minister, L Iboyaima, National Council Member, CPI, Dr M Nara, State Secretary, MSC/CPI, Ex MLA Th Tomba, Moirangthem Ibohal, Kadambini and L Thoiren, Asst Sec MSC/CPI as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, N Mangi appealed to all those concerned that are enforcing economic blockades on the NHs which are the lifelines of the state to withdraw from such agitations on humanitarian grounds.
He said, all communities settled in the state are all Manipuris and are one.
He further said that the government should try and solve the insurgency problem prevailing in the state through political means.
It should satisfy the needs of the hill people, if any, by taking up developmental works in hill areas through specific plans.
CPI, since its inception in the state has worked for the betterment of the people and to bring about peace and solidarity in the state.
CPI stands for the poor and the downtrodden.
If CPI had not existed, there were chances Manipur may have not existed as well.
Minister, Ph Parijat said that the CPI looks on all people equally and has worked in all aspects to bring up the poor and downtrodden people of the society.
As a part of the function gifts were presented to the veteran cadres as a mark of respect.
