Four zonal chairmen of Tangkhul villages have urged the authority concerned of State Bank of India to expedite the shifting of the bank from Somsai to Mini Secretariat office complex Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, reports our correspondent.
A statement of chairman Zingtun Longphang R Mangang stated that as per the agreement with the SBI authority concerned and Tangkhul CSOs at TNL president chamber last year, the process of shifting SBI Somsai branch was agreed to be completed within three months.
However, the delay in the process has questioned the sincerity of the bank authority, he added.
He also mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul has allotted rooms in the ground floor for accommodation of SBI bank branch at the Mini Secretariat office complex.
He further mentioned that there are about 34,000 customers in SBI scale III branch, yet the insufficient staff in the bank has hindered in delivering satisfactory services to customers at most of the time.
The zonal chairmen expressed serious concern and urged the authority concerned to look into the grievances of the customers at the earliest.
He warned that they would be compelled to resort to different form of democratic agitations in the interest of the public if no progress is witnessed at the earliest.
