Imphal, November 20 2011:
Rejecting the clarification made by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh from Delhi over Supra-state body proposal, BJP Manipur Pradesh has categorically observed that people of Manipur cannot be fooled by such clarification which has come indirectly like a joke.
Addressing a press conference at the party office here this afternoon, Vice President of BJP Manipur Pradesh Prof S Tiken pointed out that clarification over such sensitive issues should have come either from the side of the Union Home Minister or his spokesperson.
Contending that Seven Sisters Post could not have published a report without any basis, Prof Tiken further pointed out that the report of the Seven Sisters Post had elucidated the proposal of Supra-state body in such great details that an indirect clarification from the Chief Minister would not able to placate the people.
After a Cabinet decision, Chief Minister O Ibobi left for Delhi as a representative of the SPF government to find out the truth of the matter over the Supra-state body proposal.
For the Chief Minister to say that Home Minister Chidambaram and Sonia Gandhi were really surprised on hearing about the proposal is really unfortunate, Prof Tiken added.
