Startup Boot Camp inaugurated

Administrator of Manipur University Jarnail Singh has inaugurated a Startup Boot Camp at Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS) today.
The event was organized by Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University in collaboration with MIMS and NIBIAA Consultancy Pvt Ltd under the aegis of Planning Department, Government of Manipur.
Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei, Director, CESD & MIMS, MU, Prof N Lokendra Singh, Dean, School of Social Sciences, MU, Dr Th Munindro Singh, Director, Planning Department, Govt of Manipur and Dr Th Dhabali Singh, chairman, Babina Group of Companies attended the event as presidium members.
Around 200 budding startups attended the event.
During the course of workshop the participants were divided into four groups consisting of 50 members each.
They will undergo 9 days sessions & interaction with resource persons for skill development, said the organisers.
Chief Guest of the event Jarnail Singh said that ideal planning and courage to face challenges are the two important qualities that an entrepreneur should possess.
In pursuit of success, he advised all the budding entrepreneurs to take risk and have uncompromising quality to bring forth the businesses and ideas.
He further said that entrepreneurs should understand customers and market meticulously.
Dr Dhabali Singh said, self-employment is an alternative to Government jobs.
"Skill development training and encouraging self-employment will help solve unemployment problem," he said.
"It is difficult to compete with existing and already well established firms in the market so Government need to take special care of the new startups and provide them financial aid, and technologies.
In India when 10 percent of startups succeeds, 90 percent fails due to lack of innovation and lack of constructive strategy," he said.
