Lamdan Kabui village urges

Imphal, April 20 2016:
Lamdan Kabui Village Authority has decried
the police for not taking action against a man who has allegedly cut
down pine trees at the village.
Speaking at a press conference held at the office of the
Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA),
Minuthong, village authority secretary K Terence drew the
attention of the State Forest Department to the matter and
urged to take action against the man.
He alleged that a villager identified as M Acham had cut
down 15 pine trees on April 13.
Acham continued his deforestation activity on April 14 as
well with the help of some other persons although the village
authority asked him to stop it.
Loktak police station did not take any action against Acham
although the villagers informed them on time.
