Markets in districts ordered to close for 5 days

As a preventive measure in connection with the outbreak of COVID-19, the Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur has today issued an order for closure of all vegetable markets including temporary vendors within the district for 5 days commencing tomorrow.
An order issued in this regard by the Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav said the order for closing the vegetable markets was taken in pursuance of the direction issued by the Government, as there is a need for adequate preventive measures to ensure the health and well-being of the public.
The vegetable markets, in particular, was ordered to close as the local authorities notice that these markets witness large gathering and recorded high footfalls of public daily.
The order also clarified that the notice was issued in the interest of the general public and all concerned are requested to abide and comply with the order to achieve positive results in the combat against the deadly diseases.
Deputy Commissioner Tengnoupal, M Rajkumar also issued an order to shut down markets and vendor stalls at Moreh Town for 5 days (March 21 to 25) .
This order shall not apply to shops along the main roads, However, gathering in any form at bazar areas must be avoided by all, said the DC.
The same order is also issued for the markets of Kakching Municipal Council namely Kakching Keithel (Market no 1 and 2), Naodam Bazar and Kongoi Bazar and street vendors in and around the said market by the Executive Officer of the Council.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Ima Market/Jiribam Market, Lamkhai Bazar, Gularthol Bazar, Lalpani Bazar, Multansing Pradhan Bazar, Jakuradhor Bazar, Borobekra Bazar and other small vendors located within the Jiribam will remain closed from March 21 to 25, said a statement of Jiribam SP, M Mubi Singh.
Issuance of Inner Line Permit has also been suspended temporarily till April 15, 2020, added the SP .
