Three UG cadres arrested

Imphal, July 19 2017:
Imphal East district police personnel arrested one KCP cadre and two active cadres of UNLF in two separate cordon and search operations at Imphal East district today .
A team of Imphal East district police under the supervision of Additional SP Imphal East, W Kasar and the joint command of DSP (Commando) K Robinson and DSP (Ops) Imphal East, RK Saklemba and led by OC Imphal East commando B Lunthang Vaiphei, acting on specific information about the presence of some UG members in and around Sawombung forest gate area, carried out search operation at around 10.30 am .
During the search operation, the security personnel detained one individual on suspicion who was later identified as Hidam Aboy alias Atappa (24) s/o H Herabi of Nongren Mayai Leikai .
During preliminary interrogation, Aboy revealed himself to be an active member of KCP (Noyon) and that he joined the outfit in 2012 through one Tayai of Pungdongbam and is presently holding the rank of self styled lance corporal and is working under the command of Langam, deputy army chief of the outfit .
Aboy was arrested by the district police team after observing necessary formalities and handed over to Lamlai police station along with a mobile phone recovered from his possession .
In another incident, the same team conducted cordon and search operation along with a column of 45 Assam Rifles Chingarel company operation in and around Lamlai bazar area under Lamlai police station and arrested two active cadres of UNLF identified as Konthoujam Jayenta alias Ngaiba (23) s/o K Jugeswor of Leimakongpal Maning Leikai and Sagolsem Momo alias Luwangjao alias Suresh (21) s/o Rame of Itham Mamang Leikai .
During preliminary interrogation, Jayenta revealed that he joined the outfit in March 2015 while Momo disclosed that he joined the outfit in October 2013 through one Inao of Itham Mamang Leikai .
Both the arrested individuals also revealed that they are currently working under the command of captain Makha Ngakpa, CO in-charge of 293 Battalion of UNLF .
They were later handed over to Lamlai police station for taking necessary legal actions.
