DIG Range I IK Muivah today flagged off a cycle rally from TNL ground Wino Bazar, UKhrul at around 8 this morning reports our correspondent.
Earlier before flagging off the cycle rally, the DIG called on the participants of the rally to keep up the spirit and observed that the rain and chill should not discourage them.
On the contrary it will add to the spirit of adventure and make it all more memorable, he added.
Over 100 participants from Manipur Adventurous Mountaineering and Biking Association (MAMBA) and Pedal Attack are taking part in the rally and the cyclists would travel from TNL ground to Shirui village and then Phangrei covering a distance of 35 kilometres.
The cycle rally is being organised by Chiko Adventure and tomorrow, it will organise the 'Downhill Race' from Phangrei hill top to Jorcheng.
Nelson Hoover, Technical Director from Bangalore will be overseeing the whole exercise.
On May 19, trekking to Shirui peak will be taken up.
Around 250 camps have been set up at Jorcheng for adventure lovers.
The events partners are Leishina Imphal, MTF, Aircel, Vodafone, Ukhrul United FC, Pedal Attack Imphal and Royal Riders Ukhrul.
