State and para-military forces have arrested underground activists of different organisations in the past 48 hours.
While Assam Rifles troops arrested two underground cadres from Thoubal district areas, Imphal West district police commandos apprehended a PULF cadre.
A PRO IGAR(S) release said troops of 15 and 33 AR launched search operation in Wangjing Hodamba area of Thoubal district in the early hours today during which, one PLA cadre namely S/S Cpl Premkumar (27)s/o Ranjit of Wangjing Hodamba was arrested.
One US made 9 mm pistol with magazine and four live rounds, two detonators and two video cassettes have been recovered from Premkumar (RC No.1001), the release listed.
The other person arrested by 21 Assam Rifles has been identified as KYKL's Dhana Sangradham (45) s/o Koklei of Kakching Khunou.
Dhana was rounded up from Kakching Khunou at around 1 pm yesterday and has been handed over to Kakching police station the same day, added the PRO.
The PULF cadre identified as Md Islamudin alias Lion (35) s/o Md Sikandarof Paobitek Awang Leikai was nabbed by Imphal West commandos from Phoubakchao Bazar on May 15 at about 2 pm, said a release of SP (IW).
Apart disclosing that he worked under the command of one Thambou (35) and was involved in the killing of a minor girl from Hatta Golapati, Islamudin was assigned to extort money from the general public, the release maintained.
One .38 country made revolver, three Chinese-hand grenades without detonators, 19 demand letters, 13 UMG ammunition, four M-16 ammunition, 27 AK ammunition, two missed-round of .38 revolver, one .38 live round, two camouflage caps and three lathode shells have been seized from the captive's possession.
