TNL enforced 28-days qurantine effective in preventing spread of virus

A 28 days quarantine enforced by Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has proven to be effective in preventing the spread of coronavirus in Ukhrul district.
It might be mentioned that TNL regulated a separate SOP besides the State Government one for combating COVID-19 in the State.
The TNL, for ensuring the safety and prevention of coronavirus infection in the district, had issued a separate ordinance for every returnee in accordance with the State within the jurisdiction of TNL to quarantine for 28 days.
The second phase 14 days quarantine enforced at village level stressed on monitoring every returnee in order to ensure safety and to prevent community transmission.
According to reports from Ukhrul District Hospital, altogether 11 persons from Ukhrul community quarantine centres were shifted to village quarantine centres some days back, after completing their mandatory 14 days period in the centres, without receiving their test result.
Later, they received their test result showing COVID-19 positive while they were lodged in their village quarantine centres.
Ukhrul Surveillance Officer, Dr Pamreila Grace informed that the district hospital rapid team after learning the information of their test result immediately rushed to the areas and evacuated all of them from their respective village quarantine centres for further treatment at Ukhrul and Imphal.
All of them are in a stable condition and is gradually recuperating after given proper medication and cares to them.
According to reports, 30 persons from Ukhrul district were tested COVID-19 positive while 6 persons had already recovered so far.
