Bandh threatened

The Fact Finding Committee Against the killing of Longjam (o) Mirnalini has threatened to launch a 48 hour bandh along Imphal-Moreh road, including Mayai Lambi as well as other areas, if the State Government and the Police Department fail to provide any positive lead regarding the death of Longjam (o) Mirnalini Devi by 4 pm tomorrow .
Speaking to media persons at Heirangoithong Awang Maibam Leikai community hall today, a member of the committee, Thingbaijam Jayenta expressed suspicion regarding the death of Mirnalini and alleged that even though the husband's family claimed that the victim was found hung to death using a Khudei, the marks found on the victim do not add up with the said story .
Even though it has been three days since the incident, there has been no positive response or any progress regarding the case from the authority's side, he said and pointed out that the committee will impose a 48 hour bandh along Imphal-Moreh road, Mayai Lambi, Liwa road and MU road from 4 pm tomorrow unless the State Government and the Police Department provide any positive response regarding the death of Mrinalini.
