Imphal, December 12 2013:
A non-local advisor of Manipur State Dental Registration Tribunal, who was allegedly appointed on the recommendation of another non-local IAS officer of the State, is all set to vote in the election of Dental Council of India (DCI) representing Manipur.
The DCI election is scheduled to be held at New Delhi on December 20.The new officer-bearers of DCI would play crucial role in deciding the fate of dental colleges across the country.
According to a reliable source, three advisors of Manipur State Registration Tribunal have been appointed by the State Government.
Surprisingly, two advisors are from Andhra Pradesh while the other advisor is a local person.
The advisors from Andhra Pradesh are said to be working in some private dental college.
One of the two non-local advisors namely Dr Revathi P would be representing Manipur along with the local advisor in the election of Dental Council.
Normally, the advisors should be from the State itself.
Their opinions and views are sought for the development of dental colleges in the State.
However, many people are dismayed with the appointment of non-local advisors.
They said that there are so many local dental specialists with post-graduate degrees and exceptional expertise, but they have been sidelined by the State Govt. The appointment of two advisors from Andhra Pradesh without making any advertisement to the media may be a handy work of an IAS officer of the State, who originally hails from Andhra, the source said.
