2nd Mao Flower festival concludes on high note

Imphal, April 12 2016:
Pfukhro witnessed hundreds of people thronging to flower festival venue to savour their
undying love for wide variety of flowers on the
final day of Mao Flower Festival, reports our
correspondent.
According to Kajichew, convener of the
festival, the response of the flower growers
and lovers are massive this year as well.
Almost 8000 spectators and buyers turned
up to witness the festival, the convenor said.
Flowering plants of most of stalls were
sold out on the concluding day.
Ranging
from just Rs 150 to Rs 3000 per flower pot,
the essence of keeping flowers not for just
beautifying the house but also for commer-
cial purposes has struck the objectives of the
organizing committee.
On the concluding day, DC Jacintha
Lazarus expressed happiness over the suc-
cess of the festival.
The DC considered noted that the festival
has created a sense of commercializing the
flowering plants to sustain the State's
economy and also to improve the livelihood
of many.
