Kangpokpi, February 07 2020:
The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) is shocked over the proposed two days Zo Kutpui 2020, which will kick off on February 11 at Kawnpui village in Churachandpur district, it said today.
KIM information and publicity secretary, Gouminlun Gangte said "The intent and design of the Kawnpui's Zo Kutpui 2020, far from uniting the kindred tribes of the Kuki Chin Mizo fold in Manipur and elsewhere, has the potential of dividing the existing social fabric further in the name of oneness and unity to serve a few vested interests" .
He continued that it is the opinion of Kuki Inpi Manipur that the name of unity should not be harped upon to divide the Kuki Chin Mizo society just to gain political traction or political mileage.
He further said that the Kuki Inpi Manipur will always be an advocate and a protagonist for the unification/integration of the kindred tribes of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo, provided the intention is sincere, genuine and in the right earnest, and not at the behest of some vested interest.
He also clarified that Kuki Inpi Manipur is not part and parcel of the said ZO Kutpui festival.
