Imphal, November 06 2017:
Pointing out that five non-Manipuris are among the 27 candidates qualified for interview in the recruitment for filling 9 posts of Manipur Judicial Service-III in Manipur High Court, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has urged the authority concerned not to give any opportunity or allow non-locals to face the DPC .
In a statement, DESAM said the non-local candidates should refrain from facing the interview on their own volition .
Urging the Manipur Govt to look into the matter seriously, DESAM said it is prepared to launch intense agitation if their concern is not addressed promptly in the interest of the people of the State.
The Manipur Govt, authority of High Court of Manipur and the candidates themselves should be held responsible for any outcome .
27 candidates have been short-listed to face interview to fill 9 posts of MJS-III at Manipur High Court.
Quota-wise, the break-up of the nine posts is 5 UR, 2 ST, 1 OBC (M) and 1 OBC (MP).
Among the 27 short-listed candidates, five are said to be non-Manipuris, DESAM said .
It is very unfortunate that five non-local candidates are short-listed to face interview in the MJS-III recruitment amidst DESAM's continuous opposition to giving State quota of jobs/admission to non-locals as was evident in the recent agitation regarding giving of a State quota to a non-local in MBBS admission, it said.
