Four hurt in bomb attack

Imphal, November 06 2011:
At least four workers sustained injuries when a hand grenade lobbed inside by some unidentified armed persons exploded inside a makeshift shed near the turning to Tangkhul Avenue along Dingku Road under Lamphel police station at around 7.45 pm today.
The workers are staying in the makeshift shed in connection with construction of the roadside drain.
The four injured workers who have been admitted to RIMS have been identified as Ningthoujam Manglem (26) s/o Kalamu of Heirok Part-III Ngarouthem Khuman; Khumanthem Jibon (20) s/o late Ibochouba, also from Heirok Part-III, Maibam Naobi (50) s/o late Tomba of Salungpham and Thangjam Raghu (40), also from Salungpham.
All four of them were reportedly hit by bomb splinters at different parts of their bodies including head, faces, hands, legs, etc.
The condition of Raghu is reported to be critical.
