Bpr police detain reckless drivers

As done in other parts of the State, Bishupur police carried out a drive against reckless driving in front of Bishnupur police Station today and detained a number of people for violating traffic rules, today.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Bishnupur police SP N Herojit was led by Additional SP (Ops) Roni Mayengbam, Additional SP (L&O) Shatyam Takhellambam and Bishnupur police officer in charge K Dinesh.
During the drive, people driving vehicles without helmet, license and with two pillon drivers were detained.
Those who were detained for driving without a helmet were either made to pay a fine, buy or take a helmet from their respective places before being released.
Reportedly, at least four people paid a fine of Rs 2400 for not wearing a helmet, 23 bought a helmet while 30 others brought helmets from their places.
Speaking to media persons, Bishnupur police Officer in charge K Dinesh urged all to avoid reckless driving for their own safety and others.
Wear a helmet at all times while driving a two wheeler vehicle, he said and added that defaulters will be fined as per Motor Vehicle Act.
