RIMS alumnus conferred Chevening Award

RIMS alumnus, Dr Girish Chandra Singh s/o Thounaojam Joychandra Singh (former Registrar of MU) has been conferred the flagship UK Government Chevening Scholarship Award 2015-16 .
He is one among about 50 other Indian scholars selected for the award.
Chevening Award is given to high flying mid-career professionals with demonstrated ability of exemplary leadership.
Dr Girish Chandra Singh, who is based in New Delhi as the National TB Project Coordinator of CBCI-CARD Global Fund TB Project has been playing a central role in the involvement and operations of around 750 health establishments across the country in tuberculosis control.
He is also a strong advocate of humanized, affordable, rationale, compassionate health care and has been involved in several health system strengthening processes including designing of 'Hub and Spoke' model which is being pilot implemented in Christian Health Network at Chattisgarh.
Dr Girish joins the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to study Tropical Medicine and International Health by the fall.
