New market shed at Lamphel announced

MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar today announced a plan for construction of a new market shed with modem facilities at Lamphel Super Market.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 7th foundation day of the Lamphel Super Market Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup and Khwairamband Bazar New Market Non-Licence Holders Association held at Lamphel Super Market.
Th Shyamkumar told the women vendors of Lamphel Super Market that he would discuss with Chief Minister N Biren and his Council of Ministers regarding construction of a new market shed.
Praising Chief Minister N Biren Singh as a dynamic leader, Shyamkumar assured the women vendors that he would present a report to the Chief Minister regarding the problems, demands and suggestions of the women vendors.
He was optimistic that the Chief Minister will address the grievances of the women vendors, including those coming from Mao.
Shyamkumar further said that the State needs cold storage facility for storing perishable produces.
The Minister also said that he will discuss with the Chief Minister on buying vegetables and other products including unsold ones, to reduce the number of street vendors.
He added that the Horticulture Department is planning to open an organic outlet (shop) at Sanjenthong at the earliest.
Speaking on the issue of illegal encroachment in and around Lamphelpat area, Shyamkumar said that, the public need to protect the land as it is the as set of the State.
The Minister further said that Manipur cannot be called developed only by developing Imphal city.
The function was also attended by H Nutanchandra, Corporator of WardNo.
