Kangpokpi, February 28 2021:
Kangpokpi AC MLA, Nemcha Kipgen inaugurated the Sunday School building of Keithelmanbi Solam Baptist Church at Keithelmanbi and laid the foundation stone for construction of new Church building yesterday.
Addressing the programme, MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that Sunday School is the best way to get involved with the church, where we meet people and interact with them.
She also said that she was happy to inaugurate the Sunday School building where children would be introduced to the great Biblical dramas, connecting God's story with their own and where they would learn prayers, showing them the reality of an inner realm where God speaks to them and where they would nurture creativity through crafts, projects, skits, and more.
As she laid the foundation stone for construction of the new Church building, MLA Nemcha Kipgen mentioned that a church building can be important, but whether a church uses a building, a tent, or a grand stadium, it should teach biblical doctrine, proclaim the gospel of salvation, and glorify Christ.
She pointed out that competition in the construction of decent Church building is progressively elevating among the Christian community and especially in her constituency.
Emphasizing on the significance of the Church, the local MLA said that as we all know the word 'Church' refers primarily to the 'Mystical Body of Christ', the 'People of God', the 'Ecclesia' - those who are gathered in the name of God and pray that the Keithelmanbi Solam Baptist Church members reflect on the true nature of church building.
Pastor Thangminlal Haokip, KBC No 5 dedicated the Sunday school building and the foundation stone for construction of the new Church building after it was formally inaugurated by the local MLA in the presence of Lamminthang Kipgen, ex-local MDC and other Church leaders.
