Jiribam, July 30 2021:
Taking serious note of the alleged irresponsible remarks made by Manipur Food Industries Corporation Limited vice chairman K Sarat including mentioning of the word 'nonsense' against him during a press conference recently, Jiribam MLA Md Ashabuddin has said that K Sarat should withdraw the word 'nonsense' and tender an apology.
MLA Ashabuddin said that he did not mentioned name of any person during a press conference held recently regarding construction of J-T road but did remarked that road and communication are subject of the government.
Consultation with officials of the department is necessary for taking up any road development work and people claiming to be social workers could take up road projects but the same should be put to the knowledge of the department concerned first, he said and claimed that this was what he said during the press conference.
Ashabuddin also negated K Sarat's claim of bringing him to BJP and questioned if K Sarat was present during his journey from Imphal airport to Guwahati on March 12, 2017, which indeed was done in consultation with BJP leaders.
While clarifying that he did not make any attempt to topple the BJP led government, MLA Ashabuddin said he did nothing against the party.
Regarding mentioning of construction of a hostel by K Sarat, MLA Ashabuddin clarified that he did proposed construction of the hostel at Lalpani but there was nothing about shifting the hostel and department concerned is taking care of the hostel at present.
He also asked K Sarat to enquire with officials of the department if he has any interest in the hostel.
